Privacy policy

FindMyBiz helps people in Davangere find and contact local service businesses, and helps those businesses run their storefront. This page explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. It applies to the FindMyBiz app, the FMB Business app and findmybizapp.com.

What we collect

• Your phone number, to sign you in with a one-time code. Businesses never see it.
• Your name and, if you add one, a photo, shown to businesses you contact and on reviews you write.
• Your area or device location, only when you choose to share it, to sort businesses by distance. We don't track your location in the background.
• Messages, photos and call records between you and a business, so both sides can see the conversation. Calls go through a masked number; we keep who called whom and for how long, not the audio.
• Reviews and reports you submit.
• For businesses: shop details, address and map pin, services and prices, opening hours, work photos, and what our team records during a verification visit.
• App and device data: app version, language, a notification token, and usage events (for example, a page view or a tap on Call), used to run the service and show businesses their numbers.

How we use it

• To sign you in, connect you with businesses and deliver messages and calls.
• To show businesses how many people found and contacted them.
• To keep the marketplace safe: verifying businesses, moderating photos and reviews, and acting on reports.
• To send notifications you can turn off in Settings.

We don't sell your personal data and we don't show third-party ads.

Who we share it with

• Businesses you contact see your name, photo and messages, never your number.
• Service providers that run parts of FindMyBiz for us: Cloudflare (hosting and storage), Neon (database), an SMS provider for sign-in codes, a telephony provider for masked calls, Google Maps Platform (maps and place search) and Firebase Cloud Messaging (notifications). They process data only on our instructions.
• Authorities, when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account we remove your profile, saved businesses and history, and detach your name from reviews. We keep a minimal record only where the law or fraud prevention requires it.

Your choices and rights

• Edit your name, photo, language and notification settings in the app.
• Delete your account in the app (Profile → Privacy & data → Delete account) or from the web.
• Ask us for a copy of your data or to correct it, under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
